What's your 'leap of faith'?

Felix Baumgartner has just jumped out of a capsule from the edge of space (gulp!!), breaking a few world records in the process.

But to heck with the facts and figures....what about the courage it took to do it?

What about the confidence to see it through when things didn't go exactly to plan?

What about the fear, and feeling of being completely alone up there?

And, hell...what about the sheer excitement of it all - woohooo!!

Yet for all the stuff we worry ourselves silly about every day, he says this:

' Sometimes you have to go up really high to realise how small you are'

In comparison to life itself, our problems are small, and most are surmountable.

So, instead of focusing on problems , do as Felix is doing - enjoy life to the max.

Push yourself to reach something new. Dare yourself to be different. Power through any problems you feel you have.

And whilst you are alive - take a giant leap of faith with that one thing you have always wanted to do....but haven't (because of all the excuses you give yourself).

Go on, I dare you.

It's NEVER over, until it's over

So - well done to Manchester City, well deserved League Champs!

Of course, the doubters out there would have said 'it's over, they won't do it now'.... just because
time was running out, and the odds were stacked against them.

But a winner never quits and , until that final whistle blows, it's all to play for, even if in a nail - biting, fast paced, exciting way.

Life is played out in much the same way.

When there seems to be no hope, most people would give in believing that any effort they make towards achievement and success, is pointless.

Man. City should make us all sit up and take note:

It's never over, until it's over.

Whoever you are, whatever you do.

Only one thing matters: Do you want it badly enough?

And when I am coaching talent - in sports, showbiz and business-
Everything else is minor detail.

An X Factor star is an 'unlikely' one ...

So The X Factor is back on our screens in the UK and has landed on the screens in the US.

The contest is full of excellent singers - solo and groups, and has it's usual mix of those who cannot and will never be able, to sing. Even if their mum does tell them they can.

But can you pick a 'winner' out of all that talent?
There are plenty of people with confidence, and those who have been singing for years - they know how to face an audience and love the spotlight.
Chances are that one of them will win - right?

Well actually, wrong....

The star, and ultimate winner will be someone who is the opposite to that, trust me (I know it's early days and you have my permission to e mail me to tell me I'm wrong, if I am (!)).

But I know that the person who wins will be someone like this:

- They will lack confidence
- They won't have much stage experience
- They will be humble and doubt their abilities
- They will believe that anyone else is likely to win, except themselves
-  They won't believe that people could actually vote for them....

How do I know this? Because that's the kind of person we want to see win.

The winner will be an 'unlikely' star. An ordinary 'girl/guy next door' type .
A total 'non celebrity'.
Someone who has talent - but more importantly has a big dose of  'Ingredient X'.

Watch and you'll see.

Easy Ways To Be Successful in 2009

Ever thought it’s unfair that so many people seem to have a successful or glamorous life-and you don’t?

Well here’s some good news for you.

Firstly-many people, who look ‘visually successful’, are not.
Oh I know, they wear the latest fashions, and are seen in all the right places.
But that's not the whole truth.

Secondly, the more successful you feel on the inside, the more you will become it on the outside.

Of course, how to measure success is a real personal thing. It can come in the shape of a happy home life, being healthy, owning your own business, being financially rich or doing a good job wherever you work. You decide.

Ok, for many , riches and glamour are the ultimate ‘symbols’, but without that inner confidence that you have ‘made it’-it starts to feel shallow and meaningless after a while. Just look at how many celebrities are unhappy in their personal life.

So, do you want to know how to be and feel successful then?

Check out these top 3 tips:

1. Focus on (and think about) what you do want-not on what you don’t want!
Sound daft? Not when you consider that many people spend their life ‘grumbling’ about what they don’t have instead of pulling out all the stops to get what they want. Write it down, set goals and hold yourself responsible for achieving them.

2. Choose to stay positive.
You’ll get far more help from others that way, it will spur you on when life doesn’t go according to plan (yep, that will happen)-and being positive is an essential ingredient in the make up of truly successful people. So start acting the part!

3. Think about what you have in your life today that’s good!
Don’t take it for granted. Savour it. Be grateful.
Remember there are millions out there who don’t have what you have
Right now.

Before you say to yourself ‘is that it?’….I will warn you that if you do the above things once and expect to see your success rocket-you might be a tad disappointed. Sorry. You see to be a success, you have to do these things as a matter of habit, you know, every day-and the trick is, if you really do want to achieve something-you don’t give up.

Get it?

So, come on, hold yourself up. Tell yourself you’re gorgeous, and put on your best accessories –which are -that huge smile, and that ‘I can do anything attitude’!!!

Here’s to your success in 2009!

How to get 'lucky'..

Some people are just lucky, right?

Wrong!

People who are just lucky tend to create their own luck. And anyone can do it, it's just that most people don't-they wait for things to happen to them (it's ok, I admit I've done this plenty of times).

I'm not talking about any magic potion here by the way, or doing any 'hocus pocus'-or in fact doing anything illegal, sorry!

But here's the thing, you can be lucky by having a great attitude, by being fun to be around, by helping people out, by doing things that other people can't be bothered to do, by being happy and showing it, by working hard, by being likeable.

(Isn't today of all days a time to remember just how lucky you are to be alive? If you need a reminder, remember 9/11/2001.) Count your blessings-you already have more than most.

All sound a bit cheesy?-Ok well why don't you give it a go then? You see the truth is some people may do/be these things now and then-but to create your own luck, you need to create a real buzz about yourself. If people want to be around you, they will do things for you.

Then you start to open your own doors , and luck starts happening.

Trust me, it works.

There are times when I have been 'moping' around and had all the bad 'luck' I could handle.

But when I turn on the motor and act like I'm the luckiest person in the world-I change physically and mentally. Then good luck starts to show up-and you just have to notice it. The more consistent you are with your behaviour and attitude, the more chance you have of making yourself one of those 'lucky' people in life.

So go on-act it, expect it, and you'll start to get it.
