Celebrities...And Being Happy

For our entertainment, we currently have 3 big 'celebrity' programmes on TV:

'The X Factor', 'Strictly Come Dancing', and 'I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here'.

So what's the attraction for us?

Why are some of us glued to the set every night/week?
Because (as the government is now realising) we want to be happy, have a laugh, have fun (even at the expense of others), and find a release from our daily lives. When we are happy, we are ill less, we become more productive at work, and we are more pleasant to be around.

But what about the 'stars' who are helping us be happy? Well, they get to stay in the publics eye (which they need), they get money in different degrees-but of course they pay the price in other ways. If we don't warm to them, or like them-they lose out. Their every emotion is played out for all to see, and when the cameras have been switched off-where and who do they turn to?

Celebrities are just like you and I. They need support with insecurities, self doubt and low confidence. They want privacy when they can't have it and need the right kind of emotional support that they will struggle to get - and all 'because they should be able to handle the pressure that comes with their job' - people say) .

But you know, when all is said and done, behind the name we're all the same!
.....we all have pressures to deal with, but how good we are at finding a way of doing that, is one difference between being happy or not.
