The Ryder Cup 'Show'

So thousands have gathered in Wales to watch the Ryder Cup, and millions will be watching on TV.

The golf course looks fantastic, and the competition is both famous and exciting. Already, bets are being placed on which team is likely to win.

Is it about skill? Experience? Teamwork? Style?

Yes, yes, yes and yes.

And it's much more than that.

The Ryder Cup -like many major tournaments is about the spectacle of it all-the show.

It's entertainment (anyone who thinks it's just about the sport needs a wake up call).

Eyes will be watching how the players act and react when playing their opponents. Will someone blame the course / weather / or crowd for a missed shot? How will Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy fare under the glare of the spotlight this time? Which team will visually display the strongest behaviour?

How will the team captains hold it together?

And will the 'losers', lose well?

Golf is not just about the physical round, it's about how you mentally play the round.

Win in your head and you have far more chance of winning the game.

Psych yourself up and you will psych out your opponent.

Believe you are the best even if you are playing your worst -its the only way to get back on top.

And more than anything-enjoy it.

The crowd wants to see a good show-so give 'em everything you've got!

May the 'best' team win....
