The dangers of talking too much...
Yes, we are living in a world with information/ technology/online overload - but now we have a growing number of people who are adding 'talk' to the noise.
Here's a test for you - ask someone a simple question, and see how longer their answer is.
How many get straight to the point?
The dangers of people who talk too much are huge, so without risking talking too much, here's a fewbiggies:
1. They risk losing the plot and end up talking nonsense.
2. They isolate you and are not interested in listening to you.
3. Even if they are interested - they don't stop for you to speak (That's just rude).
4. They build a reputation (and it ain't a good one).
5. Their self awareness is pants.
6. And if they are self aware - hell, they have a big ego!
So if you are one of these people. Get. Help. Fast.
If you know someone like this - forward this blog post on to them.
Not only would you be doing them a huge favour, you'd be helping to save the world.
It's not (just) about saving our ears. I'm talking about sanity and emotional well being for all.
Who's with me on this?

Was Whitney ready to die...?
As another talented artist dies, and the grief is felt around the world - the questions continue to be asked:Why?
Was she on drugs?
Did she even intend to die?
The question I would add is 'was she ready to die?'......
Whitney loved singing all her life, and after watching her funeral ('coming home') service - she clearly was devoted to her faith. But over the years her struggles were played out in the spotlight for all to see , and no doubt, judge. This surely would have hurt her, and put pressure on her, even more.
There is no doubt that she had loving family and friends around her - supporting her and trying to help her through.
She also (seemingly) entered rehab and help facilities over the years.
But still, she didn't receive the help that she needed.
As with so many stars in the world of showbiz and sports - the right type of help , arguably was not there when needed.
And it's needed most on the climb to the top. (Not when a star has fallen).
Whitney had looked everywhere for the help she needed, and she couldn't find it.
That's why I believe she was ready to die.
RIP Whitney. My favourite artists of all time.

How do you know when a Footballer is in crisis?........
Until they hit rock bottom that is - then everyone knows because it hits the papers.
But that's (arguably) too late.
Struggling to cope can be picked up much earlier than that, often there are tell tale signs that build up over a long period of time. Signs such as these:
1. Withdrawal from being around people(including family)
2. Moods becoming inconsistent for no apparent reason3. 'Lashing out' and shouting at the slightest thing.
4. A growing dependance on .......(fill in the gap with drink, clubbing, sex, drugs etc).
5. A spiralling downturn in performance
At first it seems like the person is having an 'off day' and no real attention is given.
But if someone did pay closer attention, and looked at the detail in body language -
they'd know.
They'd know that here is a cry for help.
There are many footballers/ sportspeople/ celebrities .....(yes and people like you and I) out there all showing the tell tale signs.
You'll get to know of course. When it hits the papers. And when you are well known, that makes for juicy news and this magnifies the problem even more.
Many will argue that these people 'get paid enough' to handle it. But at times like these, money is often the root of the problem - it's a vicious circle!
For all the money being thrown at the sports and entertainment business - it's a sad day when not enough is thrown at picking people up when they are down.
Or dropped from the team.
'Championship' and 'Premiership' doesn't seem to apply to the players' level of care and well being.
Not all good businesses take care of their 'assets'.

Sarah Harding - Another celebrity struggling...
That's why people in living in the spotlight need a personal coach - so that they don't get to this stage.
Lot's of people suffer from depression and alcoholism, but when you have to live 'out loud' in the public eye, life then becomes incredibly tough.
Get well soon Sarah....
